At the beginning of the fall semester, Nnenna decided to stop letting not having a car keep her from church. She asked for a ride in the Catholic GroupMe, and Ian, someone she had never met, offered to pick her up. One simple ride to church soon became church events, ice cream, dinners, and a friendship neither of them expected.
After months of spending more and more time together, friendship turned into something more. By late November, Nnenna and Ian officially started dating. Beginning a relationship built on faith, friendship, laughter, and love.
After a plane ride over Atlanta, Ian proposed to Nnenna on the tarmac. Nearly four years after that first ride to church, the easiest “yes” began their next chapter together.
What started with a message asking for a ride will come full circle at the altar. Surrounded by their family and friends, Nnenna and Ian will become husband and wife and begin their forever together.
